Linoleum Carving & Printmaking Workshop $40.00 Creation Workshop

10:00 am–12:00 pm
Nebraska Innovation Studio
Relief printmaking, or block printing, is a process in which the image to be printed is carved onto the surface of linoleum using gouges.

This fee based ($40) beginning-level workshop is designed to familiarize you with the world of linoleum block printmaking including what tools to use, how to transfer images for carving, how to carve, and how to print your finished carved block

In the first class, we will explore how to create your design, demonstrate the tools used when carving linoleum, and practice actual carving. You will then have the interim week to work on creating your design and carving it on a block. The instructor will be happy to assist students as needed throughout the week.

In the second class, we will explore how to print using your carved block on a proof letterpress. You can then either print cards or a print suitable for framing. Linoleum blocks, carving tools, and paper and ink in a variety of colors will be provided.

You must sign up for both classes in order to attend.
