Engineering Professor Shane Farritor will teach an informal class for those who want to learn to program and use the Arduino microcontroller. This workshop will be held on 3 consecutive Tuesdays. In Session 1 we will have an introduction to electronics. We will learn the basics of voltage, current and resistance. This will allow us to understand how to connect simple input sensors to the Arduino and how to use the Arduino to control output devices such as lights and motors. We will learn to use a breadboard to quickly prototype circuits. No specific supplies are required, you may want to purchase your own Arduino (~$11) for use in future projects). Depending on the demand for the class it may also be useful to bring your own laptop.
